Willy Wonka Goes Wild at El Cortez Casino

Willy Wonka Goes Wild at El Cortez Casino

I make my second attempt at the GOLDEN TICKET playing the Willy Wonka slot machine at  EL CORTEZ Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. To me this game is so much fun! I felt like Daniel was testing my movie trivia lol. When I thought I was down and out, the re-spins kept me in the game.

We started out our night visiting Fremont Street. It was loud with live music 🎶 and lots of performers. It brought people out of all ages dancing and grooving to the music. I even saw a granny breakdancing along with a young street dancer. I loved how she let loose and had a great time.

After walking for a bit, we worked up an appetite and stopped at Fat Sal’s. At the time I wasn’t too hungry, but I knew should eat a little something because I wasn’t sure where the night was going to take us. I didn’t realize that Fat Sal’s was known for their over the top sandwiches, burgers and fries. Daniel ordered a double smash burger. Dear God! It was the best burger I have ever had!!! Just writing about it right now, I instantly got hungry for one. I am not kidding my stomach aches like it’s empty and the only thing that will make it feel better is a double smash! I ate half and Daniel ate the other half. I purely wanted another one ONLY because it was amazing. Like I said I wasn’t that hungry lol. The next time we go I already know what I’m getting, for sure double smash with bacon, and loaded fries. Actually, no! I just saw on their menu they have tater tots!! I gotta stop thinking about it because my mouth is watering. For sure, one thousand percent I will take pictures of the place and the food. They have the most extravagant sandwiches and burgers! I wish I could get something different but I will stick with what I like.

We made our way to El Cortez Hotel & Casino. Coming from Houston, Texas the winter weather was dwindling so we didn’t expect it to be so chilly. Daniel didn’t think the chilly Vegas weather would bother him as much.  So, we headed over to the gift shop and looked for a hoodie for him. Luckily, the Cortez has love for the big boys because they had his size, LOL!

Grandpa Charlie, bonus re-spins, candy pours, and the wheel bonus kept it fun at El Cortez. At certain times I was giddy. Mind you at this point I want to say it’s past 11pm maybe midnight. Daniel is getting tired and would have been happy to head back to the hotel. This game just had a hold me. It was the nostalgic feeling while playing this game and then I was winning. The night and the burger started to slow me down and I called it quits and cashed out at $194.

I didn’t win the Golden Ticket but I will go back to El Cortez for another try for sure.
